Hotpoint drum
The part was not simple to fit because it’s basically the whole machine, but it fitted well and worked with no problems. The downside was the delivery - it arrived a week late and despite me asking, Ransoms have made no offer to compensate for the late delivery.

Full replacement drum
It is a shame that Indesit seal the drum so you can’t change the bearings, however, this replacement is relatively easy to install if you are competent at DIY and have the Torx drivers and Hex sockets that are needed. It gives the machine a whole new lease of life.

Five more years?
I had to order a tub because the inner bearings were going in my old assembly - and it is welded, so no way to dismantle it. That is the reason i'm scoring it down - although not the fault of the part itself, just the manufacturer design. The first tub arrived damaged in the post, presumably the courier dropped it or it fell off a shelf in the warehouse. Ransom gave me a replacement no quibbles. Perhaps more durable packaging would be beneficial? If you have a few basic handy skills, this is easy to fit. It went straight in with just a little bit of trouble working the concrete counterweight screws into tight new holes. Some people change the door seal at the same time; i did not because i'd caught the bearing problem before any damage occurred to the seal. First drum lasted (only) 5 years, i'm hoping for at least the same life out of this one, and at half the cost of a new WM it makes total sense.

Great product
Hotpoint drums used to have replacable bearings, which was a cheap fix. Now unfortunately the drum is a sealed unit. That said this was an excellent replacement and straightforward to fit. Never having done one before it took about 90 minutes. The one thing I would say is replace the door seal and wire retainers at the same time. Yes it's more money but you'll regret not doing it as I am at the moment! Delivery was quick even to the far flung wilds of Wales!

Nice product
I was trying to work out the price of buying a new machine up against repairing a machine that should go on for another 5years. I don't believe in throwing things away . I would have fitted new bearings and a seal if they were available. On receiving part it was fitted within 2 hrs of me opening the box. It worked well , balanced and quiet. Thank you. Would recommend
