I used an electrician to fit this part and it took him a while to fit. I suggested he read the reviews beforehand but he didn't, then found he had to go back and get his soldering kit. Pleased with the job and product in the end.

PCB switch assembly
I found this swich assembly so easy to fit, as long as you are able to resolder the wiring. Refit the wiring one wire at a time, bare back the insulation to a new bit (approx. 5mm) keeping the new end clean. Resolder the new wiring ends after tinning the copper end of the newly bared wire end. Do all the work with the old switch in situ. so you won't mix up the wiring. An electric soldering iron and multicore solder are a must have, nothing else will do.

Product as described, fairly tricky to fit , soldering iron required
New board requires soldering onto existing wiring in situ, would be easier if the board came with wires pre soldered which could then be connected to existing feed wires.

Does what it says
I ordered this and received it in the post promptly as promised. Fitting was fiddly due to the design of the cooker hood. It required the use of a soldering iron as I had seen mentioned in other reviews, so was not as easy to fit as if it had screws. But that was not the end of the world. I have been using it now for two weeks and it all seems to be working fine. One suggestion for those less confident, is to take picture of the installed unit BEFORE you replace it. There are several wires and it IS easy to mix them. Now I need to replace one of the light fittings that has also failed. My only complaint is the cost, which is high for what it is.

Easy to fit
I thought I needed to buy a new cooker hood then someone told me I could get a new switch unit so I googled it found Ransoms and hey presto it was about 30 quid instead of 150 quite simple to fit with a bit of basic soldering so I would recommend it

Unfortunately the wrong part
The repair firm I hired said the part was for a newer model of cooker hood and they couldn't fit it. Not sure how hard they tried. Disappointed but can't really fault Ransome. They sent the part promptly. If Ransome could contact me to see if we can track down the right part that would be great.

Simple, easy to fit if you can solder.
Fitted, cured part of my problem but bow looks like my fan motor is unserviceable as well. 🙁

Really simple to fit
Excellent product, fit perfectly into my Hygena cooker hood. Easy to remove the old one and replace it with this one. I haven’t soldered for about 25 years, but it was so easy. There are videos on YouTube that show what to do. Just make sure to take a picture of the old board before you remove any wires, so you remember where to put them on the new pcb.
