Description
What does the suction side do for the pressure washer?
The suction side of a pressure washer draws water from a water source and delivers it to the pump for pressurisation. It has a hose and a filter that prevent debris or contaminants from entering the pump.
The suction side creates the necessary vacuum to pull water into the pressure washer, allowing it to generate the required pressure for cleaning or spraying tasks.
What causes the suction side to get damaged?
The suction side gets damaged with the presence of debris or particles in the water source. It clogs the filter or blocks the hose, reducing water flow or preventing the pressure washer from drawing water effectively.
Another cause is cracks or leaks to the suction hose which interrupt the water flow or allow air to enter the system. Improper installation or connection of the suction hose or filter cause damage or leaks and hinder the suction process.
Is it a genuine spare part?
This suction side by Karcher is a genuine pressure washer replacement part. Your pressure washer can work good-as-new in cleaning surfaces.

Perfect
Great product. Quality excellent. Prompt despatch. Highly recommended.
Great replacement part
After dismantling the Karcher Pressure washer to find the source of the leak, I did a bit of research to discover that this plastic component, or its seals cracking, is the most common reason for loss of pressure and the pump pulsing in idle. It took a bit skill and patience to remove the old part as the original metal fork (also ordered) which secures the suction side pipe was corroded. The pump head housing needs to be loosened carefully and enough to allow the part to be inserted into the inlet, before aligning the twin pipes into the pump and tightening down. The pump worked perfectly afterwards. I'd not realised how much the pressure had reduced. A great cheap fix! Also worth ordering a tube of the special lubricant for the pump and to apply to the seals, as it is being partially dismantled.
Simple when you've done it!
By process of elimination this was the part that had failed in my Karcher. At least the seal on it had failed! A shame you can't just buy replacement seals. But that said, the part is well made and with a bit of patience is easy to fit once the head cover was removed. I found it useful to clamp the boss on the bottom of the motor housing in the jaws of my Workmate in order to hold the unit stable while undoing/doing up the bolts holding the cover and head in place.

Easy to fit, reasonably priced. Part despatched and received promptly
Great product
Fitted like a glove. It was easy to install. Just do opposite of when you uninstalled the item.
Good product
Appears to be originaalia, rather easy to install.
Bit of a fiddle!
I only really needed the 'o' rings but had to buy the whole thing - hence the 3 rating for value. The item is good, original, quality. Fitting is a bit fiddly as you need to remove the head unit and then removing the old part takes a little effort. The new part is, as you would expect, a tight fit and needs some pressure to locate but, that said, it is a reasonable do-it-yourself job to complete.
