The pump head operates using a reciprocating piston system. When the pressure washer is turned on, a motor drives a crankshaft that moves pistons back and forth inside the pump head. As the pistons retract, they create a vacuum that draws water from the inlet.
This kit allows you to convert the control head of your pressure washer to a 22mm fitting, expanding compatibility with a wider range of accessories and attachments.
Replace the control head if the buttons, dials, or switches start to behave erratically, unpredictably, or improperly.
Cracks, fracture, or substantial wear and tear are all obvious physical damage indicators that should be replaced since they put performance and safety at risk.
Irregular pressure adjustments, erratic behaviour, or frequent error messages, point to a damaged control head that has to be replaced.
This pump head conversion kit by Karcher is a genuine pressure washer replacement part. Your pressure washer can work good-as-new in cleaning surfaces.
I never thought I would say this, but I really quite enjoyed stripping down the Karcher Pressure washer, finally diagnosing the issue, identifying and ordering the replacement part, fitting it and then testing it - The pump is made up of metal and plastic parts - the part which had failed is made of plastic which is prone to hairline cracks and can be difficult to see. Full marks to Ransom Spares for having plenty of real detail on their site. I would recommend using Youtube to build some knowledge on how to take your Karcher apart - there is plenty of material to review. You will need some basic tools including Star Driver, Hex Key/Hex Wrench, and screw drivers. At £30, this is definitely worth the investment, and the part was delivered in a timely manner.
I have a Karcher K4 GB when connected up and switched on it runs continuously with out stopping. Seems like it is not reaching the pressure, this is without operating the lance trigger, when the lance trigger is pressed the pressure is poor. Do I require a new control head??
Hi Ian, I'm afraid we cannot diagnose faults. I'd recommend contacting Karcher or an engineer directly to see if they're able to advise.
