Good product, could have been better if fixings supplied

Great Service
Great service, even though they had emailed saying the product was out of stock, they still managed to send it out in time. Product was in good condition and easy to install. Would definately order again from here if need be.

Works well and quick delivery
I bought this replacement extract fan, as I couldn't source a full cooker hood extract with matching curved glass dimensions. The fan works well and is quieter than the old defective fan. No instructions provided, however simple to fit when you eventually know how to disassemble the stainless chimney (as long as you don't have an existing stainless steel bolt with a damaged head, as I had). * The fan does not attach using the 4 existing bolts on the original fan plus the required bolts are not supplied with the new fan. Make sure you buy 4 bolts before starting the installation. NB the existing bolts are short, but if you can only but long bolts they should still fit.*

speedy delivery, does the job, but don't understimate the difficulty of fitting
I ordered a replacement cooker hood motor. It came super-quick, next working day! As someone else posted, the old bolts were too small . The current product needs M5 bolts, so do yourself a favour and get some in before you start (unlike what i did!). Shame that the product doesn't come with 4 M5s ( note - the motor attachment plate has the receiving nuts welded on so you do need M5 bolts). I guess this motor fits many different models so there are no fitting instructions so you are on your own fitting it as there are few YouTube videos and none for my model ( Baumatic ). Installation manuals are available but they all assume the unit is ready assembled . Take lots of photos as you take the hood assembly apart - you'll need that on the way back would be my advice ! End result is that I now have a lovely quiet cooker hood. I would have given 5 stars if it came with M5 bolts. And it's certainly cheaper and less wasteful than buying a whole new unit. But I hope I don't have to do it ever again.........good luck!

Works fine, but no bolts supplied, and the new nuts don't match old bolts.
Replacing part after the motor in an 8-year-old installation failed. Fitting was relatively straightforward – it can be fitted while the hood is still on the wall. I used a stool to raise the part so that it was close enough, and used forceps to thread the power cables through the tight gap in the hood. Note that it's not supplied with fixing bolts. Check your bolts from the old unit; mine were slimmer than the nuts on the new unit. I was lucky in that I could delay the work, and found the right size in my local hardware shop.

Near silent again
A good replacement motor, when the existing ones rotor had come off the spindle. There were two minor problems with the replacement unit;- (1) the main mounting nuts were M5 whereas the original motor mounts were M4 nuts - so I had to go out and buy new bolts, (2) the delivery people had mishandled the parcel and bashed it about, so the mount nut corners were bent back, not so seriously that I couldn't correct it, but annoying. Fitting wasn't too bad. The motor went on to the extractor housing without any problems. Threading the cables up to the control box was slightly fiddly though. A tip here would be to drop a 'carrier' string down, tie the cables loosely on to it, and then pull up through the casing, and tease the connectors gently though the opening to the circuit board box. Once all cables are secure the motor performed perfectly, as it should. All round an excellent replacement.

Great product, but a little tricky to fit.
Replacement motor required for long serving Baumatic Cooker Hood/extractor. The staff at Ransom were excellent when having to order the part but managed to despatch it pretty well as expected. The motor itself was a tad tricky to install and most of the original assembly had to be removed to allow "comfortable" access. That said, with a little patience and determination, the job was done in about 45 minutes and I now have an effective and quiet extractor fan again. Overall, very pleased.
