Washing machine door seal for leak proof wash and spin cycles
The door seal is located between the external housing and drum of the washing machine. The door's tight seal prevents detergent and water leaks while the washing and spinning cycles are in progress.
Signs you need to replace the door seal
The door seal rubber gasket needs replacement if it shows signs of wear, such as cracks, tears, or mould growth.
Water stains or rust near the door seal meeting the drum or frame suggest a faulty gasket allowing water to leak. A worn gasket leads to more vibration and noise during washing as it can't stabilise the drum effectively and cause increased vibrations.

ZANUSSI WASHING MACHINE DOOR RUBBER SEAL GASKET
brilliant service and product .. fitted like a glove ... no hassle buying from Ransomspares yet again
Get your tools out for this..
This part is OEM quality, good value, and the service from Ransoms is fast..however on my machine, the JLWM1200, there's a lot of dismantling required to expose the front of the drum, involving removal of the concrete weight. Straightforward if you know how, but I recommend to watch the relevant Youtube video for your model before attempting this repair.
Perfect replacement for the original seal
The replacement seal fits exactly as expected. Quality looks as good as original part. Delivery was fast, although tracking was not possible. Overall it was a very good deal.
Zanussi washing machine door seal (John Lewis)
The delivery was very quick, next day option. The seal looked and felt good, but the fitting was very difficult. Once you have mastered the technique it fitted excellently.

Nightmare task on door seal for JLWM 1203
With a blood curdling shout from the garage, my wife informed me that the washing machine was leaking everywhere and that we were about to be washed away.... We had a rather large leak from the door of the machine at the bottom that had clearly gotten worse when it rinsed out the washing. The load finished and I carried out a quick investigation. The water appeared to be coming from the underneath of the seal and I could not find any rips or cuts. I needed to change the rubber door seal. I looked on another well known site first and the same item was £35+. I ordered the item for half the price and the seal arrived a couple of days later. The job was an absolute nightmare to complete. I had to take the washing machine apart ....completely ! The top, the front, the circuit board, the door itself and the concrete around the drum.... It all came off. You could probably do it without taking these parts out but you will need a whole day to get it done as you cannot get to the rims. The seal is made so that it has to "hook" over the rim on the drum and then as you try to pull it round... It comes off where you've already done ( you definitely need two people ). There are two bands to attach ( one on the front that is a plastic toothed one that is easy and a metallic spring type band that is easy if you can get to it hence the dismantling of the machine as it nudges up to the concrete ) The band around the front of the seal is easy to remove by just using a screwdriver at the top to prise it off. The inner seal is a little harder so just pull at the rubber and it will come off. It took my Father and I 4 hours to complete. The drum is now water tight. Suffice to say that I will buy a new machine next time because I can't go through this job again. This site provided the cheapest seal on the net that I was happy to trust to arrive. It was a good quality item and could have been the original if placed side by side. Thanks
