Dishwasher door catch - saved me a new m/c.
My Dishwasher stopped working So I looked at buying a new one but at prices north of £300 I thought I’d try to repair. I took a chance it was the door catch that didn’t seem to make a ‘clicking’ sound when the door was shut. At £25 it seemed a reasonable punt. It was easy to buy the replacement part fromRansom at a good price. Fitting was straightforward but when I shut the door there was no ‘click’ - so dismantled it to see why (it wasn’t the doorcatch- wasted £25!!, the wiring had been put on incorrectly, ??) - the solution was that the catch mechanism receiving the hook was in the locked position, so I clicked it to open, refitted it and bish-bash-bosh !! All was tickety boo, the dishwasher was working- = saved me £300 plus!!
Zanussi door lock
Ordering a replacement dishwasher door lock was easy enough however when it arrived it looked very different so initial working out how to fit it took about 10 minutes. Luckily I knew a chip who could sort it for me. I would advise that you initially fit the lock to the main housing manually & then take off - we didn't do this & instead fitted inside the door, sealed it & then the lock system wouldn't engage. We had to undo everything again, manually fit & remove lock & then re- do the fitting & voila it worked & the door love connected. Test run gave no leaks so all in all very happy. In total took under an hour to fit once we'd worked out our mistake, follow the tip & it should take under 20 mins.
