How to Replace a Washing Machine Door Seal - Indesit

1. Access and remove old door seal

Firstly, open the washing machine door and pull back the seal to expose the spring of the band clamp.

Expose the clamp spring

Using a small flat head screwdriver, lever out the spring and pull to remove the band clamp from the machine.

Peel the door seal away from the machine.

Next, remove the lid.

Remove washing machine lid

Using your Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the 2 screws at the rear of the machine.

Remove the lid and place to one side.

Remove lid

Gently tilt the drum backward. Using your flathead screwdriver, pry the spring out and away from the machine.

You can now lift the door seal away from the outer tub.

2. Install new door seal

When fitting the new door seal, ensure the drain holes on the are located at the bottom to drain water away.

Ensure drain holes are at the bottom

Place the new door seal roughly in position, through the door porthole.

Feed new door seal through

Line up the door seal with the drain holes at the bottom, feeding the door seal onto the lip of the machine gradually working your way round.

Gradually feed the new door seal around

Roll the door seal inside itself.

Next, fit the band clamp over the door seal gradually working your way round.

Attach retaining spring

Un-flip the door seal.

Next, feed the door seal around the lip of the machine, working your way round until it is all secured.

Next, re-fit the band clamp feeding it all the way round the seal.

Re-attach clamp around the seal

Re-fit the lid and re-screw the screws back in place.

Re-attach lid and re-screw screws back in place

And that’s it, your new Indesit washing machine door seal is all set to go!
