Hotpoint Washing Machine Door Seal
1. Remove the Washing Machine Lid
Turn off and unplug the washing machine at the wall. Remove the two screws at the back of the machine, one on each side of the lid, then lift the lid off and set it aside.

2. Remove the Front Outer Clamping Band Ring Spring
Locate the outer clamping band ring spring that holds the front edge of the door seal against the machine. Use your flat-head screwdriver to hook under the band and gently lift it away from the seal.

3. Remove the Old Door Seal and Retaining Spring
Peel the front of the door seal away from the front panel of the machine. From inside the drum, gently pull the seal down and peel it away from the drum lip. The inner retaining spring will pull out with the old seal.

4. Lubricate the New Door Seal
Before fitting the new seal, wipe down the drum lip and the front panel where the seal sits. Apply a little washing-up liquid to the inner edge of the new door seal to help it slide into place.

5. Fit the New Door Seal to the Washing Machine
Line up the locating tab on the drum with the matching hole on the door seal, then push the seal onto the drum lip from the inside. Work your way around the drum until the seal is fully seated the whole way around.

6. Refit the Door Seal Retaining Spring
Position the retaining spring band so the spring itself sits at the one or two o'clock position when you look at the front of the machine — this makes it easier to pull the spring through from the top.
Attach the band to the left side of the seal first and then feed it around to the spring side. Take your time, as the spring is tight to get on. If any part of the band isn't sitting flush against the seal, gently push it into place.

7. Refit the Outer Clamping Band Ring Spring
Peel the front of the door seal out over the front panel and fit the groove in the seal over the lip of the washing machine opening. A little more washing-up liquid helps the seal slide on. Once the seal is sitting correctly all the way round, fit the outer clamping band ring spring back around the front of the seal.

8. Refit the Washing Machine Lid
Lower the lid back into place on top of the machine and refit the two screws at the back, one on each side. Plug the machine back in and your new door seal is ready to use.

And that's it — your new Hotpoint washing machine door seal is fitted and ready to go. Need more Hotpoint washing machine spare parts?
