Your washer's door seal prevents leaks during the wash and spin cycles
The door seal rubber gasket is located between the drum and external housing of the washing machine. A tight seal on the door prevents detergent and water leaks while the washing and spinning cycles are underway.
Signs you need to replace the door seal
The door seal rubber gasket needs replacement if it shows signs of wear, such as cracks, tears, or mould growth.
Water stains or rust near the door seal meeting the drum or frame suggest a faulty gasket allowing water to leak. A worn gasket generates more vibration and noise during washing as it can't stabilise the drum effectively and cause increased vibrations.

Extremely easy to fit and great value
I always thought these door rubbers would be tricky to fit, until I checked out a video somewhere. Turned out really easy and the only awkward bit was trying to reconnect the door switch as the wire was very short on my machine. Given the low cost of the part and minimal effort required, it's not worth spending the time in cleaning your old seal if it's really grubby, and you probably won't reach the mold tucked away in the corners anyway. Plus, like silicone in bathrooms, once mold is there you cannot get rid of it once the mold sets in.

Good Product
After a few you tube videos, was able to fit without the need for a repair engineer, needed a help to secure the wire tensioner, but my 14 year old son saved the day and we got it on, and so far so good.

Great replacement part, straightforward to fit
This was replacing the original door seal on a Bosch washing machine, using the generic rather than original spare part, significantly less expensive and fits perfectly. The pre-sales support and advice was invaluable and the 'how to' video showing how to install it was also very helpful. (Note that, as the video suggested, the details of accessing the portal to replace depend on the specific machine, so some patience and care required to ensure you can find the appropriate plastic clips, hidden screws, etc., but all perfectly possible for someone of average technical ability.) Very happy with the purchase, wish we had done this sooner, and would strongly recommend Ransom Spares (again).
