How To Replace The Door Seal On An Indesit Washing Machine

Hello my name is Shawn and today I'm going to show you how to change the door seal on this Indesit washing machine.  Before we start please make sure that you've isolated the appliance from the mains.

The front door seal is held in place by a band clamp.  We're going to locate the spring which is normally at the bottom of the door seal and gently prise it off with a small screwdriver.

Now we need to peel the door seal back and next we need to remove the lid of the washing machine.  This is held in place with 2 x phillips screws.

With the lid removed we can see that the door seal is held in place with a large retaining spring which we now need to remove.

We can now ease the door seal off of the tub.  As you can see the old door seal has become quite moldy.

The new door seal has a locater at the top and bottom to line up with the arrow on the outer washing machine tub.

We need to line the arrow with the locater on the door seal and feed the door seal over the lip of the tub until it is fitted all the way round.

Next we need to refit the door seal to the front of the washing machine, and replace the clamp band.
