Description

What do washing machine carbon brushes do?

Carbon brushes touch the spinning armature, which helps connect all the electrical components and sends power to the drum or pump. The brushes pull double duty, keeping an eye on how fast the motor goes and making sure everything runs smoothly.

It’s one of the commonly replaced parts, and your carbon brushes need to be replaced when they wear down. Damaged carbon brushes give you reduced motor performance, intermittent operation, or even motor failure.

This carbon brush is from Indesit. It also suits Ariston and Hotpoint washing machines. This is a genuine carbon brush for your washing machine motor.

Done the job

Easier to fit if the motor is removed. Original brushes seemed to wear out quicker than brushes on previous models. £33 for a pair of brushes seems excessive considering a complete new motor with brushes is only £88.
