What is the use of a clamping ring in a washing machine?
A clamping ring holds the tub or drum assembly in place. It also ensures that the inner drum remains stable during the wash and spin cycles to prevent excessive movement or vibration.
Why does it get damaged?
The clamping ring gets damaged when the washing machine is overloaded. It places excessive strain on the ring. Rough handling or impact during transportation or installation can also lead to damage. Perfect
This clamp is a perfect fit. Can be a bit fiddly to fit. I found it easier to separate one end of the wire/spring then work the wire into the fitting groove of the door seal & then connect the wire/spring back together again.

Correct part, arrived promptly, watch the video this is challenging to fit
The technician in the video has different hands to me, what took him about 60 seconds took me 60 minutes and I had very sore fingers afterwards when I did the first machine. With assistance it still took about 15 minutes the second time. Wear some suitable gloves.

Genuine part
Genuine part. Hotpoint. Its a very tight fitting seal. Will take two people to fit this correctly and comfortably. A bit fiddly. Easiest way is to fit the item with your drum out of the machine on a bench .otherwise you may struggle. Took about 30 mins to fit it. However its fitted and is ok . Worth while buying it when ever you change a drum seal
