The old pump squeaked as the impellor had become loose on the shaft. Removal of old pump imvolved removing 2 fixing screws, two wires and two hoses. The new pump fitted in exactly the same space and refitting the screws hoses and wires the washing machine again was quiet when the drain pump operated . No dramas just efficient purchase of a replacement part delivered within the time scale. Thank you

This was a like-for-like pump swap which fitted perfectly with no adjustment. Positioning and chassis fitment matched spot-on; so far so good. The only down-side was that the 2 pin connector from the washing machine (Hotpoint BHWD129UK | 104058681*80548650185) to the pump had to be replaced with two 0.8 x 6.35mm red insulated Female Spade Connectors, one for each lead in order to complete the installation. They obviously don't come with the pump. I had them on hand luckily, but many will not, so make sure you order some spade connectors and a crimping tool or see the look of disappointment on your wife's face when you tell her the machine can't be fixed today and she takes on the look of a woman scorned by terrible life choices. It being a Sunday and 4pm, B and Q are closed so there goes that idea. Once fitted, the pump was ridiculously quiet so on the plus side, the washing machine works like new and the missus showed her appreciation in the usual way by not having a go at me until the following morning.

This pump has now been in place for about 6 washes and is working well. It was easy to fit the 2 water pipes securely and the screwholes to hold it to the machine synched up. My only criticism is that the old pump had the 2 electrical wires going into a plastic block that then plugged into the pump. The new pump did not have the same socket, it has 2 spade connectors. I therefore had to cut off the plastic block and add crimped connectors to make a connection. There isn't a lot of spare wire to do this so some care is required. Soldering would work to if you don't have the crimp connector.

We all need to apply ourselves, at times!! This part fitted virtually perfectly, but wasn't aware of the male and female connectors. Watched the video, and the pump was a great fit, and actually worked better than the original, but could have done with the heads up about the electrical fitting. This seems hypercritical, but a great solution to an, otherwise, expensive problem. Thank you Ransom
