What is the use of a clamping ring in a washing machine?
A clamping ring in a washing machine secures the tub or drum assembly in place. It’s at the top of the outer tub and holds the inner drum securely during the wash and spin cycles.
The clamping ring ensures proper alignment and prevents excessive movement or vibration of the drum during operation.
Why does it get damaged?
A clamping ring can get damaged due to overloading the washing machine which puts excessive strain on the ring. Rough handling or impact during transportation or installation can also lead to damage. The continuous agitation and high-speed spinning of the drum contribute to wear and tear on the clamping ring.

Fits well. Not to tight that it requires 3 pairs of hands to get it on!!

This clamp is a perfect fit. Can be a bit fiddly to fit. I found it easier to separate one end of the wire/spring then work the wire into the fitting groove of the door seal & then connect the wire/spring back together again.

Correct part, arrived promptly, watch the video
This is the easier of the 2 clamping rings to fit, the technician in the video must do 20 of these every day to make it look so easy! A second pair of hands certainly helps. A message from the manufacturer says that it is important to install with the spring at the 1 o'clock position. the old ring (factory fitted) was in the 7 o'clock position.... I have now repaired to machines in the last month, one with the spring in each position, both are operating without problem.
