General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your washing machine.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains before you start.
The interlock activates when the door is shut, establishing a safe connection that enables the machine to turn on and run safely. This device stops the door from opening while the wash or spin cycles are running, safeguarding you from potential mishaps and ensuring the machine runs smoothly.
If you discover that the door of your washing machine won't lock securely or won't latch shut, it can be a sign that the interlock is broken or worn out. The door interlock may be to blame if the machine refuses to start or stops intermittently mid-cycle.
This door interlock is a genuine Hoover washing machine replacement part. It also fits Indesit and Whirlpool washing machines. Use our compatibility checker to see if this part fits your model.

Great product, easy to fit , rapid delivery so customer not waiting too long
The service received from Ransom spares was brilliant. The part itself is only as good as the manufacturer provide- which is not great quality.
I was very pleased to receive original branded items, and with the video instructions supplied from Ransom Spares for free, I found it very easy to fit the new door lock. The item was so cheap that I bought 2, so now I have a spare in case this happens again :-) Well done Ransom Spares - 10 out of 10 for customer service. Ps. the items were delivered to Northern Ireland next day! Could not be more pleased.
Machine says door is open when its not. Is this the likely cause.
Hi, this could be an issued caused by a faulty interlock, however we cannot be 100% sure. I would recommend contacting an engineer to see if they can confirm.
