Controls the water flowing into the machine.
Tick the symptoms your appliance is showing. We’ll tell you how confident we are this part is the fix.
Error codes are model dependent, so the same brand may have more than one listed.
| Code | Brand | What it means | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| A9 | Indesit | Means a water inlet problem, where the machine is not receiving water or not filling sufficiently. It is usually caused by a water inlet fault, a jammed filter, or an open or short circuit on the main wash triac affecting motor control. | High |
| E1 | Indesit | Means a water intake failure, where the machine cannot detect enough water in the drum within the allotted time. It is usually caused by a water inlet fault, a valve not closing, or a door lock issue. | High |
| F8 | Whirlpool | Means the washer is not detecting the correct amount of incoming water as F8 E1 or Lo FL, while the F08 variant means the heater relay is not being activated. It is usually caused by a water inlet fault, a faulty pressure sensor, a faulty heater relay, or loose module connections. | High |
| F8E1 | Whirlpool | Means a long fill or no fill fault where the washer is not detecting enough water entering the tub, also shown as LoFL. It is usually caused by low water pressure, kinked hoses, or clogged inlet screens. | High |

General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your washing machine.
Safety: Switch off at the mains and turn off the water supply before you start.
Water inlet valves regulate the flow of both cold and hot water into the washer as well as balance the temperature of the washer's water.
The two are identical except for how they work. The clockwise rotation activates the cold side stem. While the hot side would activate by spinning in the opposite direction. You can use a stem with a hot side on a cold side and vice versa.
One indication is a complete lack of water flow into the machine during the wash cycle, even when the water supply is turned on. Another symptom is a slow or insufficient water supply, where the machine doesn't receive an adequate amount of water to properly fill the tub.
A malfunctioning inlet valve may also cause leakage or dripping from the valve itself.
Yes. Watch our tutorial video below on how to fit a washing machine cold water inlet valve.
This cold water inlet valve is a genuine Indesit washing machine spare part. It also fits Ariston, Hotpoint, Scholtes, and Whirlpool washing machines.
If you need to replace the cold fill inlet water valve 2 way on your Hotpoint washing machine, we've got the video for you.

Appliance and Part Number:
Perfect fit for Hotpoint Whirlpool 7kg washer. Easy to fit. In fact identical to faulty one being removed. Job done in less than 15 mins. Washer back in service.
5 Star Service all the way. Great Service. Part arrived when stated. Good Quality at a reasonable price.
The part was an exact match for the faulty one being replaced, very simple to fit and working fine, only issue was the delivery. I paid for next day delivery but it took two days, in fairness the extra postage charge was refunded immediately after I complained
Easy to fit. Customer service was good, delivered in a few days despite the postal strikes.
Excellent took me 10 minutes to fit came in a Whirlpool bag so I believe it to be a manufacturers part. I had next day delivery - was a gamble on my part getting the correct bit as next step was a new machine. So glad Ransomes saved the day!
