Was a bit nervous ordering this in case it was hard to fit, but was much easier than I expected. Hardest part was figuring out how to remove the outer clip on the drum's gasket, because I could only find videos for the type with spring clips; my integrated model HDB8541-D/80 has a plastic clip with a sawtooth latch which as it turned out could be popped open easily with a flat blade screwdriver. Very simple to unscrew the old interlock and unclip it. Replacement part is an exact replica of the original part and works perfectly. Very happy customer!

This did exactly what I needed it to, despite being a little tricky to fit (entirely down to the machine not the part), I got it fitted and restored the broken locking mechanism on my washing machine door.

We have a Hoover washing machine that is now over 10 years old. The door interlock started to fail, meaning that the lock often didn't engage and the door would need a good "thump" to get a full wash cycle to start. A part-cycle (e.g. just spin) would also sometimes never start. Ransom spares had the genuine manufacturers door interlock in stock and being local to me meant that I had the part in my hand and ready to fit in around 40 minutes. It was very easy to fit, just remove the top cover, remove the 2 screws holding the door lock in place and retrieve the faulty part by lifting it out by its wires. Swapping the interlock took about 2 minutes and the only slightly tricky bit was reaching down to hold the new part in place while re-fitting the 2 screws. Check that the door latches and opens correctly, replace the top cover and the job was done. The door now locks almost instantly and the wash cycle starts much quicker than I ever remember. For only around £15 our machine now has a new lease of life. So much more economical that calling out an engineer or - even worse - scrapping the machine when it is so easily fixed.
