The door seal is located between the drum and external housing of the washing machine. A tight seal on the door prevents detergent and water leaks while the washing and spinning cycles are underway. 

Signs you need to replace the door seal

The door seal needs replacement if it shows signs of wear, such as cracks, tears, or mould growth. 

Water stains or rust near the door seal meeting the drum or frame suggest a faulty seal allowing water to leak. A worn seal leads to more vibration and noise during washing as it can't stabilise the drum effectively and cause increased vibrations.
