Can you please advise what is printed along the side of this shock absorber in black ink on the plastic body (for example, it may say something like "120N 41017168 ......".

Hi Gary, This one is marked, I20N 49043541 U8. The number starting with 4 is the manufacturers part number for the part. This is a superseded (newer) version of the part 41017168. This will be a replacement for the one with the numbers provided.
