General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your washing machine.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains before you start.
The drain pump filter in a washing machine serves as a barrier between the tub and the drain pump, preventing larger objects, such as lint, hair, or coins, from entering the pump and potentially causing blockages or damage. It is typically located at the front or bottom of the washing machine, accessible through a removable panel or cover.
The accumulation of trash, lint, and other foreign objects in the washing machine filter causes a limitation in the flow of water or a full blockage. This buildup may result in clogged drains, water leaks, or washing machine cycles that don't finish.
The drain pump may also malfunction due to issues with the power source, the electrical system, or the wiring.
