The drain pump fluff filter kit captures and collects any lint, tiny fibres, and other particles that may be in the washing water. The water drains from the washer and goes through this filter during the wash cycle.

Lint and dirt are successfully caught and retained by the filter while yet allowing water to pass through.

What compromises the drain pump?

The accumulation of lint and debris clog the filter over time. If the filter is not regularly cleaned or maintained, it becomes obstructed and leads to poor water drainage and washing machine performance. 

The filter itself becomes damaged or worn out and results in gaps or tears in the mesh. This can allow larger debris to bypass the filter and cause blockages further downstream in the drain system.
