Error codes are model dependent, so the same brand may have more than one listed.
| Code | Brand | What it means | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| E23 | Bosch | Means the AquaStop system has been activated by an internal water leak or a severe drainage failure, with water collected in the base plate triggering a safety sensor. It is usually caused by an internal leak or a blockage in the drain pump. | Medium |
| E23 | Siemens | Means the AquaStop system has activated because water has leaked onto the base plate. It is usually caused by a leaking connection, a damaged hose, a jammed filter, or a pump that is not operating. | High |
| E35 | Siemens | Means water has leaked into the base of the machine and activated a flood safety switch, locking the door and stopping the machine. It is usually caused by a pressure switch fault or an overfill issue. | High |
| E12 | Smeg | Means water leakage has activated the safety flood switch, or the water is not draining properly. It is usually caused by a leak, a draining fault, a pump not operating, a door not sealing, or a malfunctioning pressure switch. | High |

General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your washing machine.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains before you start.
A door seal is a flexible component located between the door and the drum of a washing machine. It forms a watertight seal when the door is closed, preventing water from leaking out during the washing and spinning cycles.
Replace the door seal on your washing machine if you notice any signs of wear, damage, or leakage. The door seal becomes stiffer, wears down, or develops rips.
This causes water leaks throughout the washing process, which may compromise your floors or the area around the machine's and reduce its functionality.
See our video tutorial below on how to replace and fit a washing machine door seal.
This washing machine door seal is a genuine Bosch washing machine spare part. It also fits Balay, Constructa, Neff, Pitsos, Profilo, and Siemens washing machines.
The following DIY repair video should assist you in fitting this part. However the exact procedure may differ depending on your make and model.
Safety Warning - Always unplug from the mains before carrying out any repairs.
Pay a little bit more for the OEM parts and you’ll not be disappointed - worth every penny! Great service from Ransom Spares and delivered as promised. Can’t ask for more than that.
Product looks good. Fitting explained really well on Ransom's website video clip. Toughest bit was fitting the retaining springs - perhaps I'm not as strong as I was! Definite knack to easing them into the grooves on the seal.
Easy to find part on the Ransome Website. Did the Job, speedy despatch, and saved me buying a whole new washing machine. Price reasonable. The 'How To' video was invaluable to help me learn how to fit the part, and this sets Ransome above other parts suppliers
Arrived next day , found a video on you tube , about 40 mins from start to finish ( and done correctly) .
Random spares delivered this replacement seal really quickly, which was much appreciated when our washer door seal failed a week before we went on holiday! This is a genuine replacement seal and as such is quite a bit more expensive than some of the unbranded replacements out there. It seems a bit pricey for what it is, but Ransom spares was one of the cheapest for this genuine part and definitely the cheapest when I needed one day delivery. It's a Bosch/seimens part, so quality is spot on, with all new seal retaining rings provided in the pack. It is a perfect fit and matched the original part exactly. I'm fairly handy and found fitting it was fiddly but fairly straightforward. The very helpful video was great to understand how to go about it. My seimens machine needed a lot more parts removing than the Bosch, but it wasn't too difficult. Trickiest bit was trying to get the inner retaining spring on by myself. Two spring shaped red marks across my fingers and a short bout of swearing sorted it and it snapped into place on the third try. The rest was an easy DIY job and it's been working perfectly since, putting up with some serious pre and post holiday overtime!
