Needed some fettling to fit

By Mr George Tondryk - Farnborough - 23rd Sep 2013

This product is a compatible replacement. It cannot be stripped down for individual solenoid replacement with the original Bosch part. The item was being fitted into a Bosch EXCLISIV F1100A Washing Machine. The item would not fit, as supplied, due to the plastic moulding fitting grooves not being deep enough or wide enough for the machine's metal back panel thickness. The locating grooves had to be enlarged with a hacksaw blade in both depth and width. Even then, it was still a struggle to get it in, as I didn't dare cut any deeper towards the valve body. The result is that the locking latch still doen't latch in. But it's in far enough, now, and in service OK.

Ease of Fitting

Easy to connect but plastic fixing somewhat inferior so that securing in place was difficult

By Ms R Cyphus - West Byfleet - 4th Sep 2012

I bought this to replace the valve in my 16 year old Bosch WF2000 which looks exactly like the one in the picture. The supplied part (described as compatible with the Bosch one) is of similar design but is not as well made as the original part (plastic fixing section is of inferior quality in that it bent, whereas the equivalent part of the old Bosch part is very rigid) and although it connected up easily enough (plumbing and electrics) I had some difficulty fixing it into place in the back of the machine, although I was eventually able to fit it through by filing down various surfaces. Unfortunately part of the inferior plastic got bent so that it doesn't hold completely securely. Despite this, I thought the part was good value and found a very good video on Youtube which showed me how to fit it. I hope it will stay in place!
