AEG Washing Machine Door Seal Rubber Gasket840546

Our door gasket got demaged so the water started dripping out around the door. This fitted perfectly our AEG Lavamat 74650 despite the fact that the exact subtype wasn't found on the webpage. The fitting is a bit tricky but doable - of course you need to take off the whole front of the washing machine but in addition the space between the drum and the concrete weight block (where you need to hook the new seal) is very tight. I managed to do that without taking the concrete block out but it was fiddly. It took me about 2 hours from start to end. I could imagine that taking the concrete block out would make it more straightforward. Now 2 months in and holds great. I can recommend the product.

Having fitted new bearings to my washing machine, there was a slight leak from the rubber door seal when I used it for the first time. No problem, as this part is also available from our friends at Ransomspares, and the price was lower than I expected. Delivery was fast. Fitting such a strangely shaped seal was not as difficult as it looked. I removed the front panel of the machine and the concrete weight attached to the front of the drum. In the case of my machine (AEG), removing the concrete weight gave me much better access, and you need this to make sure it's seated correctly all the way around. I used a tiny bit of silicone spray to help the rubber lip slip into place. Very satisfying to be able to fix my machine myself. Works beautifully now and no leaks. Thank you Ransomspares!
