Good replacement part. Quite a bit of work to fit !
Previous drum on AEG Lavamat was 7 or 8 years old, made a grinding noise when spun by hand, and machine was jumping about. It's the bearings, but you can't replace them - you need a whole plastic outer drum, steel inner drum, with the bearings pre-fitted. The replacement part is good, but don't underestimate the time need to remove the old one and fit the new. You have to remove back top and front panels, disconnect door seal, motor and drive pulley, water supply, drain and heater element from the drum, release the springs, and remove the shock absorbers. Then refit. I hadn't noted where the cable connector to the front control panel went, though there is only one viable option. New one working fine, lets see how long it lasts !

Perfect part. Tough to fit but worth it.
This part was exactly the same quality as the original and came with six plastic pins for the shock-absorber mounts. I've never fitted a tub before, but now I'm glad I didn't write off our AEG machine. It's XL, expensive, 8 years old and very well made. Having seen inside, I am now sure I can keep it running for many years to come, whatever breaks. I was annoyed when the bearing seal gave way, leaving black marks on the whites, and then the bearing became noisy. Then I found out the bearing couldn't be replaced on its own because of the welded tub. However, replacing the whole tub was easier than splitting out the drum. My only quibble would be over the broken polystyrene packaging, which took ages to vacuum up.
