When you press it down, it starts up your tumble dryer. And when you release the button turns it off to give it a rest until you need it again.
This on/off start switch push button is from Hotpoint. Also fits Ariston, Creda, Crusader, Electra, Export, Indesit, Jackson, Proline, and Swan tumble dryers.

Product good service good Goods overpriced but that’s nature of the beast Fitted new switch made no difference Guess must be programmer or something else Machine still works without switch Waste of £10 Not ransoms fault Dodgy indesit
Simple replacement. Half an hour's work all up. Saved me the price of a new tumble dryer.
I had to replace the START switch on our Hotpoint tumble dryer and this switch was just the job. It arrived quickly from Ransom Spares and at a good price. It was a tad difficult removing the old switch but that is down to the Hotpoint design. Once in and connected it worked a treat!
Great product matched the original one fitted on the machine. Great service ease of ordering, very user friendly website and well stocked. Only downside the standard delivery option is a little slow, but was kept well informed of the estimated arrival of the product.
Would this switch be the cause of the dryer tripping the electric.
