General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your tumble dryer.
Safety: Switch off and unplug at the mains and let it cool before you start.
The heating element in a tumble dryer disperses heat when it converts electrical energy into heat energy. It has a coil or wire that heats up when an electric current passes through it and generates warmth circulated throughout the dryer drum.
The thermostats in the dryer help regulate the temperature by monitoring and controlling the heat produced by the heating element and ensure it stays within safe and efficient operating levels.
A malfunctioning heating element can result in inadequate heat production or no heat at all, and have inefficient drying and longer drying times. Similarly, the thermostats need replacement if they fail to regulate the temperature accurately.
When the dryer overheats or underheats, it can damage clothes or cause poor drying performance.
This heating element and thermostats is a genuine Hotpoint tumble dryer spare part. It also fits Indesit and Swan tumble dryers. Use our compatibility checker to see if this part fits your model.
Nice quick delivery well packed Easy to fit works perfect
Fitting it in was easy, it's all on the back, but just getting access inside the machine just to plug the unit in was a pain in the posterior. Great price and quick delivery.
Wasn’t sure if I needed element or thermostats to fix my Hotpoint tumble dryer. Found this part at Ransom spares that is both items already assembled. Part delivered very quickly. Took about twenty minutes to fit and the dryer is now working perfectly again.
Our Hotpoint tumble dryer stopped working - i.e. no heat. A quick test showed that I had power to the unit, but one of the 2 thermostats or the cut out switch was at fault as no current was getting through to the element. I couldn't work out which one was at fault with the test equipment I had. The heating element tested OK. However the cost of this complte unit was less than the individual parts, so a "no-brainer". Very easy to fit. Tumble Dryer now working.
Ordered the part over a bank holiday weekend and found that the part arrived in good time despite this, would order again from this company
re: TVFS83CGPUK : Our Part Number: RS601455 The image shows the thermostats and cutout, are these include, or should be ordered separately?
Hi Dave, I can confirm that the thermostats and cut out come complete with this heating element as shown in the image.
