What is a drum shaft on a tumble dryer?
The drum shaft in a tumble dryer with a riveted drum runs through the centre of the drum and is securely attached to the dryer's chassis. It ensures proper alignment and stability of the drum while it spins and allows efficient drying of the clothes inside.
It acts as the central axis around which the drum rotates and gives a reliable and durable mechanism for the dryer's operation.
When do you know your drum shaft is getting bad?
One common indication is excessive noise during the drying cycle, such as grinding, squeaking, or rattling sounds. This could suggest that the drum shaft is becoming worn or damaged, resulting in misalignment or poor rotation of the drum.

Simple solution and saved a new dryer
This is the 2nd time in the last 4 years I’ve purchased this product, and our dryer gets its fair share of use! The hardest bit is to disassemble the dryer to access the back of the drum, but once done it’s a relatively simple change that will allow your dryer to keep on spinning for a few more years. If you’ve not done it before you will need to drill out the old rivets, but it’s not hard, and then the replacement comes with nuts / bolts to reassemble, as well as a new phosphor bronze bearing mount. Our dryer is now about 8 years old and spins like new again. Speed of delivery was pretty good, arrived in just a few days. Good work Ransom Spares

Great customer service & part did the job..
First attempt for delivery wasn't good, not the suppliers fault but down to the carrier... After an quick email explaining situation the supplier quickly responded & sent out a replacement FOC.. All done within a quick, efficient & friendly manner & was very much appreciated.. Part for the tumble dryer is now fitted & works well.. Would definitely use this supplier again.. Thanks guys.
