How does the interlock on your tumble dryer door work?
The interlock mechanism determines the location of the door. The switch or sensor alerts the tumble dryer's control system that it is secure to start the selected cycle once the door is shut and latches.
It prevents the tumble dryer from starting or continuing to operate if the door is not completely closed or secured.
When should you replace your door interlock?
The interlock may be damaged or worn out if you notice that the door of your dryer won't latch shut or lock firmly. If the machine won't start or abruptly stops mid-cycle, the door interlock might be the reason.
