What does a tumble dryer belt do?
When you turn on the tumble dryer, the motor activates and starts rotating. The belt, which is looped around both the motor pulley and the drum pulley, forms a connection between them. The belt measures 1780mm. As the motor rotates, it transfers rotational energy to the drum through the belt, causing the drum to spin.
How can I tell if the belt in my tumble dryer is deteriorating?
A malfunctioning belt may be the cause of any screeching or squealing sounds it makes while running, excessive vibrations, or a drum that spins unevenly or not at all.
Any wear indicators, such as fraying, cracking, or stretching, can be identified visually. If any of these are present, replace the belt to get your washing machine back to working properly.
