What does a condenser do in a tumble dryer?

A condenser in a tumble dryer is responsible for removing moisture from the air inside the dryer. As the wet clothes are tumbled and heated, the moisture evaporates and creates humid air within the dryer drum. 

It cools down the hot, moist air, causing the moisture to condense into water droplets. These droplets are collected in a container or a connected drainage system, effectively removing the moisture from the air. The dry air is then reheated and circulated back into the drum to continue the drying process.

When do you replace your water condenser?

When the condenser becomes damaged or develops leaks, it becomes inefficient in condensation and water collection. If you notice water leakage or the container does not fill up with water as it should, it’s a faulty condenser. 

A decrease in drying performance or prolonged drying times despite proper cleaning and maintenance of the condenser may also indicate the need for replacement.
