What is a fluff filter in a tumble dryer?
A fluff filter in a tumble dryer is a component designed to capture lint, fibres, and other particles that are released from clothing during the drying process. It helps prevent these materials from circulating back into the dryer drum or clogging the ventilation system. The filter is usually located inside the dryer door or at the front of the machine and can be easily removed and cleaned.
What happens if you don't change the lint filter?
The buildup of lint can reduce the airflow within the dryer and cause it to operate less efficiently and take longer to dry clothes. The excess lint accumulates in the dryer vent and causes reduced ventilation.
A clogged lint filter is a fire hazard. The lint becomes tinder, and together with the overheating, can start a fire.
