What is a latch on a tumble dryer door?
A lock on the door of a tumble dryer keeps it firmly closed. It's a little plastic or metal piece that fits into a corresponding latch or striker on the dryer's body and is found on the door frame.
The latch clicks into place when the door is closed, keeping it locked during the drying process. The clasp also stops the dryer's moisture and heat from escaping.
What damages the door catch?
Frequent or forceful closing of the door can lead to wear and tear on the catch. Accidental impacts or mishandling of the door can also cause damage to the catch. Damaged or faulty door catches keep the door not staying securely closed, cause heat loss, inefficient drying, or safety hazards.
