What is a fluff filter in a tumble dryer?
True to its name, the fluff filter catches the lint, fibres, and other debris that separate from clothing during the washing cycle. It can be quickly removed for cleaning and is frequently found near the front or top of the machine.
The filter ensures greater drying performance and lowers the possibility of plumbing system jams by preventing lint from re-depositing on the clothing or obstructing the drain pump..
What happens if you don't change the lint filter?
A clogged filter reduces water flow, which decreases the washing machine's efficiency and lengthens wash cycles and water usage. Odours develop from the lint and dirt buildup and spread to clean clothing.
If the filter is neglected, debris may accumulate in the drain pump or plumbing system, causing clogs and expensive repairs.
