How does a heater element regulate temperature in tumble dryers?
Tumble dryer heater elements produce heat that dries the clothing. They use a thermostat in conjunction with electrical resistance to control the temperature.
Electrical current passes through the heater element when the tumble dryer is turned on. Resistance that the current encounters as it travels through the wire causes it to become heated up. The air around the area is then heated, which dries the clothing.
When do they need to get replaced?
Over time, heater elements degrade due to heating, cooling, strain, or mineral deposits from hard water. Indicators like insufficient heating, longer drying times, inadequate heat production, cold spots on clothes or the drum, visibly damaged elements (burn marks, breaks, or corrosion), and a malfunctioning thermostat signalling temperature regulation issues indicate the need for heater element replacement.

Direct replacement
Bought this heating element for my Grundig tumble dryer. My old one had a wire that got corrided and came off. Easy to find the correct part on the website. Delivery was not bad to N. Ireland (3 days). The part fitted perfectly and has been working fine. One thing I advise is that you make a note of where all the different lengths of screws go when you take the back cover and element off the machine. I put screws that were too long in the wrong place and they were rubbing on the drum when I first turned it back on. Loud grinding noise!

Easy fit, right product
I found the replacement part using a simple internet search. Very reasonably priced, I decided to buy from Ransomspares because I simply didn’t trust other well known online sources. I’m glad I did.
