Stabilises the drum and allows it to spin smoothly during the drying cycle. Also helps to reduce friction between the drum and other components.
It shows signs of damage when it creates grinding or squeaking noises. The drum also moves excessively, cracks appear in the flange, or the drum struggles to rotate smoothly. Change it with this replacement part.

When i renew bearing at back of my dryer do i also need the drum spindel or will it stop sqeeking with the bearing renewed

Hi Alan, this would depend on the condition of the spindle. If this isn't damaged or bent then replacing the bearing should stop the squeak.
