Traps fluff and lint from the air so it does not block the dryer.
Tick the symptoms your appliance is showing. We’ll tell you how confident we are this part is the fix.
Error codes are model dependent, so the same brand may have more than one listed.
| Code | Brand | What it means | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| E52 | AEG | Means the motor overheating safety cut out has been triggered, stopping the cycle or the drum. It is usually caused by a worn motor carbon brush, a faulty motor, a faulty control board, or restricted airflow. | Medium |
| EF1 | Electrolux | Means there is a ventilation blockage or insufficient airflow so the dryer cannot exhaust hot air properly and overheats. It is usually caused by blocked filters or restricted airflow that makes the unit stop to prevent a fire hazard. | High |
| C2 | Zanussi | Means the machine is unable to empty water from the condenser unit, frequently displayed alongside E20 or E21. It is usually caused by a clogged filter, a kinked drain hose, or a faulty drain pump. | High |
| E20 | Zanussi | Means the appliance is unable to remove water effectively, also encountered on washer dryer models with two beeps or flashes. It is usually caused by a pump or drainage fault, a clogged filter, a kinked drain hose, or a lint blockage. | High |
| E21 | Zanussi | Means a water drainage issue or a blocked condensate pump, with the dryer stopping for safety because water is not being removed efficiently. It is usually caused by a blocked filter, a clogged condenser unit, a kinked drain hose, or debris in the pump. | High |
| E32 | Zanussi | Means a fault with the moisture sensor system, where the conductivity sensor signal frequency is too low. It is usually caused by a clogged filter, dirty moisture sensors, or faulty wiring or control board. | High |
| E52 | Zanussi | Means a motor circuit fault or motor overheating, with the control board no longer detecting movement from the motor. It is usually caused by worn carbon brushes, a failed tacho coil, or a faulty motor. | Medium |
| E60 | Zanussi | Means a general heating fault, with the dryer not heating up, taking too long to dry, or leaving the clothes wet. It is usually caused by poor airflow from blocked filters, a tripped thermal safety thermostat, or a faulty heating element. | High |

General fitting guidance. The exact steps can vary slightly with the make and model of your tumble dryer.
This is a genuine tumble dryer fluff filter.
In a dryer, a fluff filter collects lint, fibres, and other material left over from wet clothing. It helps in avoiding system blockage and recirculation of debris into the dryer drum.
If you see any rips, tears, or holes in the mesh, lint can pass through, and your filter isn’t as effective when you use it in the drying cycle. Change it with this replacement part.
This tumble dryer fluff filter is from AEG. You can also check other suitable brands from the list above.
