Part arrived switly.Fitted with ease following Ranosoms excellent online help. Dyson repaired..hurrah! Note, if changing the motor: Ensure you also order the hepa filter at the same time from Ransom Spares. I forgot to and had to source one locally...nightmare and cost me a whole lot more. Dyson replacement motor
The product seems like good value for money. It was certainly cheaper than purchasing a whole new vacuum cleaner. It worked well straightaway. Fitting it took a while, although none of the steps was particularly difficult. Having the video from Ransoms on YouTube to follow was a great help. You definitely need a decent set of basic tools before attempting the replacement.

Better Than The Original!
The replacement motor arrived in good time, and by following the step-by-step video online it took about an hour and a half from start to finish to dismantle the vacuum cleaner, remove the motor, replace and rebuild it. It now works better than ever, has more suction and is quieter in use. Replacing the motor wasn't an easy task, but it was manageable, and far cheaper than a professional repair or a replacement.

Great product, tricky to fit.
The product was great. Fitting was ok as most of the parts come away via clips etc. The hardest bit was lining the new motor up as I pushed it into the housing. This was a bit tricky and took a few attempts but I got it all done from start to finish in about an hour (following an online video). The only problem with the video was that the model must have been slightly different to mine as the motor housing retaining screws were not in quite the same place, but it didn't take long to find them! I would definitely use this service again!

Relatively easy to fit
Although I had already taken the cleaner apart before looking for a replacement motor, the Ransom video was a great help in re-assembly. The replacement motor was slightly different from the original with regard to the brush arrangement but could still be connected up with the supply wires. The new motor was a tighter fit than the original and I found it difficult to push back in and get aligned properly. Sweated a bit and had several goes before I succeeded. Cleaner now working again!

Just what is needed!
Motor is perfectly compatible with Dyson original. Brilliant video to show how to fit. Only pain was the endless nasty plastic components, some of them need a little encouragement to come off. Not Ransoms problem, just a factor of the materials used. Without the video would have worried that too much force would end in breakage. Overall. Excellent. Highly recommended.

perfect replacement
By the time Dyson phoned me back (5 days) to arrange a repair. I had viewed the video(Ransom) on how to get the motor out, ordered the replacement, received it, and fitted it. All working well. looks like i could have got a cheaper motor elsewhere, but the "how to" video was so good i went with Ransom and was not disappointed.

Good replacement part.
The perfect replacement for your Dyson motor. Having already stripped mine down to determine a seized motor (original made by Panasonic) I was surprised to find an equivalent replacement online at Ransoms for such a reasonable price. The online video tutorial was useful in reassembling the various plastic components. Easing the motor cover off should be done very carefully, I snapped one of the tangs (glued back successfully with cyano). The large rubber cover for the motor is a very good fit in the casing, slide the motor back in very carefully, trying to keep it aligned as the smaller rubber cap at the motor spindle end has to locate with eared cut outs and it's impossible to twist it once it's in. I had to remove mine and realign it several times. My vacuum has star shaped rather than cross head screws so if yours is the same, you'll need the appropriate tool. All the DIY shops sell them for a few pounds.

Easy to install
Excellent value and a real money saver. The instructional video was a really good guide, this has saved me a lot of money and so easy to fit well worth it for anyone thinking of purchasing this part.
