How does the turntable drive coupling work in microwaves?

The turntable drive coupling transfers rotational motion from the motor to the glass turntable and allows it to spin during the cooking process. It has a plastic or rubber coupling that connects the motor shaft to the turntable hub. 

As the motor rotates, it transfers the motion through the drive coupling.
