Why do microwaves have an inner door glass?
The inner door glass acts as an insulation barrier between the outside world and the oven cavity. It helps in maintaining the proper temperature within the microwave.
You can see what's inside the microwave without opening the door through the transparent window and less heat loss. The inner door glass reduces the risk of burns by keeping the microwave door's outside cool to the touch.

Replacement of oven glass in Siemens combimicrowave
It is quite tricky to take the Siemens oven door apart as I couldn't find any youtube videos of the process. The best thing to do is to take photos as you go along so that the reassembly is straightforward. The glass and rubber gasket that I bought fitted perfectly and arrived quickly after the order was placed. Once I worked out how to put everything back together it was straightforward. I hope the replacement glass will be durable as this is the third time I have replaced glass which has shattered when the oven is hot. Ransom Spares are a very useful resource for appliance parts. I have used them before and am sure that I will need their help again in the future

Just the job
A bit of metal got trapped between the original glass and the frame on the combo oven and caused the glass to shatter when using the microwave. This replacement glass was just the job to repair. Relatively inexpensive and simple to fit.

Perfect quick replacement for our NEFF
The product is a perfect replacement for our NEFF multifunction oven. Internal glass had shattered quite dramatically. Arrived promptly, well packaged and in good condition. It is an easy fit - if you use the instructions on internet forums and follow the many steps to disassemble using no specialist tools except a T20 screw driver - but do be methodical as you take appart (I took photos as I went) as you need to put it back together and its not intuitive - but its not hard either. Do not damage the foil screen as that is what protects against microwaves not the glass. Now works great so very economical to DIY repair rather than a hefty call out or a £800 replacement! RansomSpares were not the cheapest but it was a genuine spare, specific to my oven model and was in stock, ordered and fitted in just a few days so would definitely use again.

Difficult to fit
Hard to tell if the part is good as the glass normally lasts 1 - 3 years before shattering. It was difficult to fit on our Siemens combi/microwave. The fitter struggled and it took about an hour to do the job, with my help (and that's saying something). However, it appears to be a good job and all working correctly so far.

Good afternoon. Our daughter has a Bosch Mircowave/Oven model no HBC84K520B/03. We ordered a replacement glass panel as it had shattered. Whilst I started to reassemble the glass, I noticed the seal/gasket had a small tear in it. The seal is still complete but with a small section missing. She has said the seal measurers 420 x 190 ie where the actual seal goes. I cannot seem to match the size of the seal can you help please. Thanks.
