Part arrived the next day and was exactly as described and fitted perfectly.

I broke the door latch mechanism by walking into the open door of my built-in Electrolux microwave oven. I initially thought I would have to spend £630 on a new microwave. Just before I pressed ‘buy’ it occurred to me there might be a spare available. And so a search brought me to Ransom Spares. Delivery was next day and brought the whole cost to £15.10 Fitting was easy and took 10 minutes. A plastic trim is pulled away from around the inner glass window by prising it away from where it butts up against the front glass. A small knife is useful for this but mind being too forceful around the glass. Once started, a twist of the knife releases more of the trim from its clips. Only do this at the end of the door opposite the hinge and around the latch mechanism where it protrudes from the trim. Release a sufficient amount of the trim to gain access to the rest of the mechanism behind, releasing the small spring before removing the single mechanism piece. Reattach the spring to the door first. There is a small notched protrusion. Hold the spring out at 90 degrees to the door and attach it to the replacement mechanism before locating the top and bottom of the mechanism into a hole top and bottom. The trim can then be pushed back into place and the job is done. This was so easy, from choosing the spare, checking compatibility, and taking delivery. Easy too fit once you ease away the front cover of the inner door there you will see a little spring wich you ease up with the old latch wich then deplace it self from the holdings then replace it with the new one in reverse order. Watching that you do not loose the small spring (small hock inside for spring too fix on ). Hope this is help full.

A manufacturers exact replacement part. Fitting was a ten minute job for an experienced engineer with the right tools. Certainly saved me a lot in call out charges etc. Should be easy for a competent DiYer. Don’t mix up the very similar but two different types of screw.
