The on and off switch in a lawnmower enables the operator to start or stop the engine by completing or interrupting the electrical circuit. When switched on, it allows current to flow to the ignition system, initiating the combustion process and enabling the engine to run.
Conversely, when switched off, it cuts off the power supply to the ignition system, stopping the engine.
Continuous usage, exposure to outdoor elements, or mechanical wear lead to switch failure or malfunction. The switch becomes unresponsive, loose, or physically damaged which creates difficulty in starting or stopping the lawnmower.
A faulty switch can compromise the overall functionality and safety of the lawnmower, as it may prevent the engine from starting or cause difficulties in shutting it off.
This on and off switch is a genuine Bosch lawnmower replacement part. It also fits Atco, Qualcast, and Suffolk Punch lawnmowers. Use our compatibility checker to see if this part fits your model.
The hardest part was removing the wires from the old switch. I ended up cutting them and adding solder to the new ends. Reassembly was easy after that.
Very easy to fit. A very good product and supplied very promptly
Just the job. Easy to fit, easy to use parts finder on website, good value.
Exactly the part I wanted. Direct replacement. Delivered in good time

Good morning. Could you advise if it is possible to remove the bared cables from the switch? Do you just pull hard or is there a technique that gets them out safely and cleanly? The cable is broken just outside of the switch. Thanks
Hi Martyn, I don't believe you can remove the wires from the switch. The wire would get cut outside the switch and stripped back to push in to a new switch.
Does the replacement switch have screw terminals for the wiring. The existing one does not.
Hi John, the wires would need to be slightly stripped and then push fit in to this switch.
How to remove cable wire from the switch and then refit the wire
Hi Bernard, you'll need to cut the wires where they enter the existing switch and them back to push them in to the replacement.
