Replace the thermostat on my 2004 Whirlpool as I was getting a slight electric shock when touching the evaporator while looking into another fault with the evaporator fan, every straightforward to fit if your confidence.

Having had the covers off to manually defrost the condenser coils before (quickly using a hair dryer!) this was easy enough to fit but don't cheat and take out all the shelf brackets much easier to get the back cover plate out and be careful to put them back the same way they are handed! check the continuity of the defrost heater first but if the original little black box looks a bit 'blown up' this little thing is the answer. Seems a little expensive but there again its less than the call out fee for the fixer (who will probably tell you they don't fix fridges anymore, get a new one) and easy enough to fit if you have the correct screwdriver and ar confident which end to hold it! Fridge and freezer purring along like new again.
