Fridge Thermostat

We purchased this 'compatible' thermostat to install into our Tecnik fridgefreezer. In the description and subsequent model number check, it claimed to be a compatible replacement part. The coil which is pushed into the hole in the fridge is much longer than the part we took out; this one is far too long. When reading the instructions it says quite clearly NOT to cut it in any way. We have inserted as much of the thermometer as we could and coiled the rest up as small as possible to refit the numbered wheel and light. We were uncertain if it would work but it appears to be cooling the fridge quite nicely. On reflection we should have paid the extra money and got a direct replacement.
