Noticed the water content of the veg in the salad crisper was turning to ice. A quick search suggested the thermostat was to blame. Ransome supplied within 3 days. Part was easy to fit, hardest part was moving the fridge to reach the power socket but thats down to my kitchen design. Following a YouTube vid and taking photos of the old one before removal made sure I connected the leads to the correct terminals. Only 3 to do so nothing complex. Powered back on and all working perfectly. Thank you Ransom Spares.

This thermostat was for a RL84N larder fridge manufactured in 1998. It has performed flawlessly all that time and this was the first fault. We thought it might be the compressor but the Hotpoint technician just bridged the contacts to confirm the diagnosis - thermostat failure. Despite having a week's notice of the model number the technician had arrived without a spare thermostat on the van and could not assure us when he could get one. So we cancelled the Hotpoint Call in disgust and (now having the diagnosis) ordered the spares from Ransomes which arrived promptly. I would heartily recommend Ransomes.

The repair was relatively straightforward and avoided the cost of calling out an engineer. I will have no hesitation in using this company again, if the need arises.
