Great product all round , east to order , cake quickly , and easy to fit . My only issue was the price , little expensive for what it is , but overall , can't complain . Made my fridge whole again :)
It's a great replacement part, if a touch expensive for what it is but I guess that's just market forces (fairly small market vs high production costs). However it is NOT easy to replace IF the original part hasn't already fallen off when it broke. I had to break off the old one with a screwdriver being VERY careful not to break the (white) drawer too. Even then - and slightly because of doing this - the new one was very hard to get in position over the lugs that stand proud on the underside of the lip. TIP: make sure these are the exact shape they are supposed to be (file of any imperfections caused by doing the first process) before putting the new part on or they won't fit into the holes in the cover and it won't sit quite right
The front of our Hotpoint fridge freezer salad crisper had been cracked for years. When a big chunk broke off decided that a replacement part was needed. Was a bit dubious that a replacement part would fit but the website checker confirmed compatibility. It is quite expensive for what it is but the competition charges even more. In the process of getting the old front off two of the fixing pips broke off the white moulding. The new part fitted fine but it had to be held in place with two small screws from under the front edge. All is looking great and working well now.
When a new front is purchased, how do I remove the old one? Regards Kevin
The easiest way to remove the front flap from the drawer assembly is: 1. turn the drawer upside down 2. apply slight pressure to the drawer base near the front edge 3. the drawer flap should now release from the base of the drawer 4. pivot the drawer flap away from the base of the drawer and lift the drawer off the drawer flap 5. re-fit in the reverse order.
