How do LED circuit plates work in the fridge?
LED circuit plates in refrigerators serve as the lighting system and illuminate the insides of the fridge. These circuit plates consist of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that are mounted on a circuit board. When electric current flows through the circuit, it energises the LEDs, causing them to emit light.
The circuit plates typically contain multiple LEDs arranged in a specific pattern to ensure even lighting distribution throughout the fridge. They are designed to be energy-efficient, long-lasting, and generate minimal heat compared to traditional incandescent bulbs.
What damages the circuit plates?
LED circuit plates are damaged by electrical surges and overload the circuitry and harm the LEDs and other components. Exposure to excessive moisture or condensation inside the fridge can lead to corrosion and short circuits on the circuit board.
Physical damage, such as cracks or broken connections due to rough handling or accidental impact, can disrupt the electric current flow and result in LED failures. Overheating caused by poor ventilation or component failure can damage the LEDs by melting or weakening solder joints, leading to connection issues.

no flicker
We were given a fridge and found that the interior light flickered . I found this online and it arrived quickly. As usual the removal and fitting of the part was made more difficult by the way the part was fitted, a screw behind the fitting and no clear way of removal of part. With the screw out and the fitting pushed back it came out and the new part was clipped in. Refitting was in reverse but lining up the screw is a blind operation. The light itself was not as bright as the original fitting yet the numbers matched. As we had not had the fridge for any great length of time I could be mistaken about the light intensity. Overall, it works fine and I suppose the mov e to LED is inevitable but the fitting of the part had become a fifteen minute job instead of a thirty second job when using a bulb. Progress.

Ordered for my fridge as the light was flashing like a disco . After looking on the hoover website I decided to look elsewhere as the price was ridiculous . Found ransom spares , who not only had the genuine part , was a lot cheaper . Definitely recommend, as not only cheaper even with delivery charge , but next day delivery. Winner winner !

Simple to fit and working fine. Hardest part was removing the casing in the fridge freezer but the item just clips in once the old one is removed.

I have a Hoover HBCP3150/1KD integrated fridge freezer. The Led light has went and wondered if this circuit plate is compatible, if so can I change this myself or is an engineer visit required? any assistance would much appreciated.
