Have a fridge that stores all we need for a week. A replacement is at least 2 gallons less volume and not cheap neither. So we said, try a thermostat to see if we can get it colder, as the rest works fine only it thinks 10 degrees is cold enough. Unscrew the one screw in the thermostst box on right hand side of fridge, remove bulb and prise inner end of box off the wall and slowly extract probe from tube in fridge wall. Refit wires as on original and slide new probe back in to tube press cable connector back on and screw unit back, replace bulb and hey presto good as new well nearly it is 15 years old. We can now get frozen eggs again. 20 minute job if all goes well, that includes figuring out how to get the box off the side wall. A point though, when removing the thermostat/light unit if it all comes to bits be very careful putting it together as the light switch is actually in this unit and works on sprung loaded rods. Well worth the 36 quid.
