How does the LED light panel work in fridges?
The LED light panel in fridges works by utilising a series of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to provide illumination inside the refrigerator. LEDs are semiconductor devices that emit light when an electrical current passes through them.
When the refrigerator door is opened, an electrical circuit is completed, and current flows through the LEDs, causing them to emit light. LED technology is preferred for fridge lighting due to its energy efficiency, long lifespan, and low heat generation.
What damages the light panel?
The LED light panel can be damaged by electrical issues such as power surges or improper connections. Heat buildup, inadequate ventilation or dust accumulation, physical damage from impacts or rough handling, and exposure to moisture and high humidity levels contribute to the natural ageing of the LEDs over time.
These factors can lead to diminished brightness, colour shifting, or complete failure of the LED light panel.

Bought this replacement led bulb for my Bosch fridge. The original one had failed after about 2 years. It was quite hard to remove. But fitted this replacement and so far so good. We can see the contents of the fridge again!

Bosch replacement LED arrived as promised and in excellent condition. Was identical to original and was straightforward to fit. Fitting took 30 seconds. It’s worth viewing You Tube as there is a little trick in removing the old unit without causing any damage.
